How to complete your account setup

After registering, your NeroPay account needs to be fully activated before you can take payments and receive payouts. Your dashboard shows your activation progress and guides you through each remaining step.

How to get there

Log in to your NeroPay dashboard. Your activation progress is displayed on the home page.


Activation progress

At the top of your dashboard you will see an activation progress bar — for example, 90% completed. Below it, three steps show what has been done and what still needs action:

Step What it means
Complete Registration Marked as complete automatically once Legal Info and Business Info are submitted
Verify Your Identity Requires you to upload a valid ID and complete face verification
Link Your Bank Account Requires you to add your bank details before payouts can be made

Step 1 — Complete Registration

This step is completed automatically as soon as you finish the two-step registration form (Legal Info and Business Info). No further action is needed here.


Step 2 — Verify Your Identity

Identity verification confirms who you are and is required before your account can be fully activated.

  1. Click Start Verification on your dashboard
  2. Upload a valid UK government-issued photo ID
  3. Complete the face verification step
  4. Wait for approval — the automated process typically completes within a few minutes

You will see real-time progress during verification, such as "Scanning Document" or "Verifying Authenticity." Your verification status will update automatically once approved.

⚠️ Only UK government-issued documents are accepted — UK Passport, UK Driving Licence, or UK National ID Card. Non-UK documents are not accepted by the system. See the article Identity verification for full details.


Step 3 — Link Your Bank Account

You must link a UK bank account before NeroPay can send your payouts.

  1. Click Link Bank Account from your dashboard activation panel
  2. Enter your bank details — bank name, account name, sort code, account number, and account type
  3. Confirm your details and click Add Bank Account

If your bank account is already linked, this step will show as complete.

Step 4 — Choose your payment methods

Once the above steps are complete, select your preferred payment methods to start accepting payments. This includes card payments, contactless, and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.


What happens after full activation

Once all steps are complete, your account is fully activated and you can use NeroPay without restrictions. Note that your first payout is subject to a standard 7-day security hold. See the article Your first payout and the 7-day security hold for more information.


Frequently asked questions

Q: What percentage does the progress bar show? A: It reflects how many of the activation steps have been completed. It reaches 100% once registration, identity verification, and bank account linking are all done.

Q: Can I take payments before my identity is verified? A: Your account must be fully activated to use all features without restriction. Contact support if you need guidance on your specific situation.

Q: How long does identity verification take? A: The automated process typically completes within a few minutes. You will see your status update in real time on the dashboard.

Q: What if I get stuck on one of the steps? A: Go to Account → Help & Support and create a support ticket. Include a description of the step you are on and any error messages you see.
