Tap to Pay
Overview
Tap to Pay is a feature that allows merchants to accept contactless payments directly using a compatible device (such as a smartphone or tablet), without the need for additional hardware like a card reader. This functionality supports payments via NFC-enabled cards, mobile wallets (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay), and other contactless methods.
What is "Tap to Pay"?
Tap to Pay enables a seamless and secure checkout experience by allowing customers to pay by simply tapping their contactless card or device on the merchant’s mobile device. It removes the need for extra equipment and reduces friction at the point of sale.
Prerequisites
- A compatible NFC-enabled device
- The latest version of the NeroPAY app
- Proper user permissions (admin or merchant access)
- Internet connectivity
🔐 Enabling Tap to Pay via Payment Settings
To enable Tap to Pay using the general payment settings menu:
- Open the NeroPAY app on your mobile device.
- Navigate to:
MENU ➡️ Payment Settings ➡️ Settings
- Locate the Tap to Pay option.
- Toggle the switch to Enable.
- You may be prompted to accept terms and conditions. Confirm to proceed.
🛒 Enabling Tap to Pay via Virtual Terminal or Card Reader

Security & Compliance
- All transactions are encrypted and comply with PCI DSS standards.
- No card data is stored on the merchant device.
